Description

The Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded the construction of a wastewater treatment plant to enhance the living standards of residents in Northern Shouneh. The plant is to assist the local communities in wastewater disposal and provide a sustainable source of treated water for local agriculture, as per the statement from the US embassy in Amman.

The project provided a treated wastewater for reuse in a sustainable manner for agricultural purposes in the neighbouring farms, and provided job opportunities and generated income for local communities.
